(MBR - 001) Dancing Between Realms

In our exploration of shamanism and the integral role of dance rituals in various global cultures, we discovered fascinating insights about the indigenous Kwakiutl people. They used to perform something called "tseyka dances".

These dances were performed in conjunction with winter ceremonies (or "hamatsa dances"), which make reference to experiences with spirits that had confronted a cannibal spirit known in their folklore as "Bakhbakwalanooksiwey", a spirit who were attended by birds capable of swallowing a human.

During the execution of this dance, the participants enter into a trance state in which it is mentioned that the terrestrial begins to intertwine with the supernatural.

Drawing inspiration from this concept of accessing altered states of consciousness through movement and dance, we have curated a selection of artists that, through their mastery in sound manipulation, will guide you on an immersive journey that oscillates between the supernatural and terrestrial realms.
